Another pay rise for our pollies???

Yes, I know about attracting the best and brightest, but for our politicians to be given yet another generous pay rise riding on the heels of the whopping raise they received in March – even sans Gold Pass – well let’s just say the timing isn’t ideal.

Have fun, Labor pollies, with that Carbon Tax door knock appeal now.

AFTERTHOUGHT

A smart polly would come out today and say they’re donating theirs to charity for 6 months/a year…

Gawd, good work if you can get it.

I like the, donating to charity, idea. I can’t believe they let the pay rises go through without a word in the media until after the event, in the week the government introduces a new tax on the people and while the government tells workers (teachers/Nurses etc) no pay rise for you in these tough economic times.

The average-Joe certainly has a right to be miffed about this.
The POLL being taken at New.com has had over 7000 votes already. 97% of respondents say “NO” to the question “Do federal MP’s deserve another pay rise?”. This is not going down well with the sheeple, at all.

I also read ex-MP’s and their families are living it up holidaying at favourite destinations on the taxpayers purse. Mind you, that story has vanished down the memory hole this morning.

    • Right on. People are hurting out there, and this is a real kick in the guts.

You need to dig out the names of the Independent Board which is officially responsible, because the MPs can point out that they have ‘no say’ in the determination of their salary level; it’ s the Board and and the MPs cannot stop them.

        Cheers
