Democrats: 16 tril in the hole and they want to spend more. Profoundly astonishing. Republicans agreed to, in an effort of compromise, to tax hikes even though said tax hikes will arguably just drive those teats offshore.

tl;dr
Republicans have agreed to nothing as yet. The news orgs have been striving hard to coerce some into abrogating their anti-tax pledges. Plus the side-stepping of the blatant double-dealing from the Office of the President.
