Obamacare explained… in a sentence

Brilliant!

That lady is Dr. Barbara Bellar, candidate for Illinois State Senate, District 18.

Tough call; she’s up against Chicago politics.

Meanwhile, Romney and Obama, who’ve both taken a day off from politicking today for obvious reasons, are pretty much even stevens.

Occupy Unmasked

The other side to the story most people have heard about the Occupy Wall Street and related movements around the globe.

The trailer for the new film produced by Citizens United and directed by Stephen K. Bannon. “Occupy Unmasked” goes deep into the “Occupy” movement and exposes its origins as well as the radical ideas behind “income inequality” that has become the centerpiece of the Obama re-election effort.

OWS was a spontaneous, grass roots movement? Yeah *cough bullshit* OK.

LOL. Isn’t it crazy Republicans who you’d think would do something like this?

An Oklahoma senator wants an ammendment to a state abortion bill that would make masturbation illegal.

“However, any action in which a man ejaculates or otherwise deposits semen anywhere but in a woman’s vagina shall be interpreted and construed as an action against an unborn child.”

And just how would one enforce that law?

Too funny.

The senator, Constance Johnson, is to this blogger’s surprise, a Democrat.

UPDATE

To be clear, Johnson is pro-choice.

Rather than being funny, her snarky ammendment makes her look like a time-wasting oxygen thief. I am laughing at her, not with her.

Wishful thinking?

Seems a bit early to tell for this layman and more of a coincidence, but anyway…

It’s happened 13 times since 1936. Call it the IBD January Incumbent Barometer.

An incumbent president faces a challenger … and 13 out of 13 times the stock market picks the winner in January.

Say again?

Here’s how it works: When the stock market scores a big gain in January — about 6% or more — the challenger beats the incumbent president every time, or as we shall see, almost every time. When the stock market goes up or down modestly in January — 4% or less in either direction — the incumbent wins almost every time.

This January the Nasdaq rose 8%, signaling a loss for President Obama, according to the IBD JIB.

UPDATE

Stacy McCain:

Let’s pause, my friends, to recognize that what I write on this blog, and what you reply in the comments, will never change anything about the Republican presidential primary campaign. And we would be guilty of exaggerating our own influence if we thought otherwise.

Via Instapundit who notes:

In a nutshell, that’s why I haven’t seemed very interested — as various emailers have noted from time to time — in the Republican primary process. Nobody really excites me, but I’ll be quite happy to vote for the nominee, whether it’s Romney, Paul, Santorum, Gingrich, or Zeeba, over Barack Obama. Nor do I think the race is likely to turn on what gets written here.

I feel similar. None of the GOP nominees have really stood out.

UPDATE II

The latest poll tells a different story than the IBD JIB.

Oh, bummer

The One may yet be the None come 2012, and Obama’s team is getting jittery.

It’s been a rough June for the White House. Instead of being able to run a campaign taking credit for economic improvement, President Obama will, according to the latest forecasts, be trying to win four more years amid a grim economy next year. The president’s reelection team, once hoping to run on a “Morning in America” theme now doesn’t have that luxury. No wonder, the president’s advisers over the past month have been making moves that suggest they’re awfully concerned about his prospects:

Indeed. Current polls have him at 42% against 46% for a Republican… any Republican.

UPDATE

Oh well. At least Obama still has the support of the US Communist Party.

News tidbits from around the Interwebs

As if Gillard’s week couldn’t get any worse, Nauru wants to ratify its UN Refugee Convention commitment. How embarrassing for a PM that is out of options.

Speaking of that issue, let’s just get scum like these pissants out of the way.

Worse? Ten million bucks of taxpayer BER funds were spent on schools slated for closure.

One last stab at our Prime Stabber:  So she’s convinced about man-made global warming, eh? And that a useless tax will fix it? And that scientific reports that aren’t actually scientific but actually directed by government policy makers – yes, we’re talking the IPCC here – can be trusted when written by Greenpeace activists? OH wait, it all makes sense now. ;-)

Keeping it in Australia for just one more blurb: Cory Bernadi for Libs presidency? Hmm, maybe, but wouldn’t he be better in a powerful ministerial role?

OK, crossing the puddle but still thinking of home, some Aussie mum reckons it was her boy getting it on with his girl. In Canada. In the middle of a riot. As you do.

BTW, in Greece they riot over “austerity measures” (i.e. not letting the country go completely down the toilet after decades of leftist government and social policy). In Canada, it’s over an ice-hockey game. Again, as you do.

OK, over to the US. Why did it take DEMOCRAT Weiner so long to resign in the first place? Anyway, Slate takes a look at some other frisky pollies who refused to resign… and got away with it. With the eight they showcase in all, five are Democrats including Bawney Fwank, Bill, and of course, Ted. Two are Republicans*, and they chuck Berlusconi in for good measure. The dude is 74 and still chompin’ at it! One almost has to respect that.

*Arguably, one of the Dems would be a Republican in the modern era.

On a more serious note, is Obama’s Libyan war – and let’s face it, it IS a war – even legal? He’s totally snubbed Congress aka the body that is actually authorised to permit a war. And he’s being sued for it.

Meanwhile, in yet another Obama Moment of FAIL™, he rejects a further push to US energy independence by turning his chin up to Alaskan oil and gas drilling. Good timing, dickhead, just when China and Russia announce closer ties (MOAR) whilst warning the US to butt out of Oil-land aka the middle East. Is Obama even pro-American? Is he just that plain fucking stupid?

China’s also taking steps against US cyberwarfare threats against them. Arrogant little bastards. Anyone who has Malware Bytes knows China is the biggest cyberwarfare threat by a longshot. Still, if I were China, I’d take advantage of that stupid clown in the White House now, too. It’s just how it works in the real world (as opposed to Obama’s leftist dream unicorn fantasy).

Speaking of unicorn fantasies, Eliot Spitzer claims Republicans have shifted beyond the far right. Give me a break, mate. Maybe he thinks that only because the left is currently halfway to an alternative universe that doesn’t even exist. Seriously, taxing a trace gas to save a 4.5 billion year old planet? How is taxing 0.001% of the atmosphere and ruining the livelihoods of millions of families reasonable yet a bloke who used to own a pizza joint is radical?

Maybe it’s because so-called “progressives” would be more accurately described as “regressives”.

Speaking of progressive, to save a planet that doesn’t need saving from a problem that doesn’t actually exist, everyone’s favourite pseudo-scientific political body, the IPCC, wants to put mirrors in space to… oh, I give up… to waste even more money (like we have any left)!

F*ck me. The Ridiculometre™ is fully functional and operational, Lord Vader.

And I mean FULLY functional and operational… steak made from human shit. They’ve been making us swallow their shit for more than 20 years now.

When figurative no longer is: FYYSFLT’s. As Penn & Teller note, always use the Japanese when trying to sell bullshit (‘cept it ain’t bullshit anymore).

Oh god. Can we just talk about real beef please?!?!

Thank you.

Those greenies are just a bunch of hypocrites anyway, the lot of them. Sorry you didn’t get the house you wanted, Edge, but when you suck on about the environment, and then try to top Al Gore in the waste-stakes, well, that’s Karma baby.

Speaking of funny, it not just in the US – looking at you Stewart and Colbert – where comedians double as government and/or leftist propagandists.

*sigh*

Did anything actually positive happen in the West over the past week?

Yes it did.

The cherry on the cake: windfarm shut down. Windfarms are noisy for those living next to them, dangerous for those building them, and don’t produce viable electricity.

UFC stars endorsing Dem. Harry Reid???

It’s odd, that’s for sure. Especially when you consider this:

Some of the biggest stars in the mixed martial arts cage-fighting world have come out for Reid, most recently Randy Couture, aka Captain America, aka The Natural, Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Famer, six-time heavyweight champion and registered Republican.

And we’re not talking about Joe-blow Democrat candidate. We’re talking about Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

So why???

This?

Based in Las Vegas, the UFC enterprise is co-owned by the Fertitta family, owners of a major Las Vegas casino chain and backers of Reid.

If – and I mean if – UFC fighters have been, er, persuaded, that’s low.

Obama: then and now

Remember when Obama famously said there was not “a Liberal America and a Conservative America”, only “the United States of America”? How times have changed. Now the mantra is for the Dems to punish their enemies.

Remember when he called for bipartisan government? Well, sure, Obama reckons the Right can come along for the ride, but now they have to “sit in back”.

So there you go: change!

Oh, and BTW, the desperate Dems are continuing their age-old practice of literally paying people to vote. But no worries, the Democrat propaganda machine MSNBC is covering for them.

With three trillion added to US debt in just two short years, the Democrats deserve to be sucker punched (figuratively speaking). So there’s no sympathy here for them as the Republicans are set to win the right to redraw the district maps.

UPDATE

Obama’s approval rating is at it’s lowest ever – 37%.

UPDATE II

Speaking of dirty Dem voting techniques, there’s more. Harry Reid’s name is coming up on ballots as already checked, and other machines are checking Democrat when the voter checked Republican.

The machine technicians are all members of the SEIU.

And yet again, many in the US military – predominately Republican voters – aren’t getting their ballots in time.

Southern (white) Democrats “one step closer to extinction”

I’m no expert of American politics, but it’s clear the Democrats are going to really cop it this November.

Jeff Zeleny:

The Southern white Democrat, long on the endangered list, is at risk of being pushed one step closer to extinction.

From Virginia to Florida and South Carolina to Texas, nearly two dozen Democratic seats are susceptible to a potential Republican surge in Congressional races on Election Day, leaving the party facing a situation where its only safe presence in the South is in urban and predominantly black districts.

The swing has been under way since the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964, when President Lyndon B. Johnson predicted that his fellow Democrats would face a backlash of white voters that would cost the party the South. It continued with Ronald Reagan’s election and reached a tipping point in the Republican sweep of 1994, with more than one-third of the victories coming from previously Democratic seats in the South.

Good, considering their history.

Dirty Democrat digging: planting Tea Party candidates

Talk about gutter politics. Talk about desperate.

A New Jersey Republican congressional candidate criticized his Democratic opponent Friday amid mounting evidence that Democratic officials planted a tea-party candidate in the race to siphon off conservative votes.

More dirt here.

Democrat dirt machine digs on

Picture this: A woman hires a house-keeper. The house-keeper provides the relevant documents to show that she is legally allowed to work in the country. Later, 9 years later, she reveals that she is in fact an undocumented illegal worker.

Sadly, the boss is compelled to fire her.

The illegal worker then sues her boss.

Huh? How can an illegal worker sue her boss when all her boss did was follow the law?

Easy. When the boss is Republican Gubernatorial candidate, Meg Whitman, and the race is neck and neck with Democrat Jerry Brown.

Oh, and the lawyer working pro bono for the illegal worker? Heavy ties to the Democrat party and a supporter of Jerry Brown.

Duck and cover

Fun times across the puddle…

Driehaus and Nye, both Democrats, are in two of the most hotly contested House races in the country.

But a year after tea party protesters disrupted their town hall meetings — and with control of the House hanging in the balance — many politically vulnerable House Democrats now appear reluctant to telegraph where and when they will appear in open forums.

Glenn Beck’s rally may have appeared cheesy to foreigners, but it seems to have worked where it counted.

Poor Obi. Just when he pimped out his new digs and all.
