Big earthquakes are not linked. Just because a big one happens in Japan, doesn’t mean one will happen on the other side of the world.
“If California is ready to go, it’s because California is ready to go,” says Jian Lin, a geophysicist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Massachusetts. “Not because an earthquake in California would be triggered by Japan.”
Thirty years of study backs that one up.
And remember, Hollywood isn’t going to suffer a zombie apocalypse, either.
