No Carbon Tax

Head of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peter Anderson, representing 350,000 businesses, says: “Since Julia Gillard’s election we have seen global and domestic conditions turn against Australian exporters. We would like to see the carbon tax abandoned.

Anderson says business thinks the carbon tax is driven by Labor’s political needs, not Australia’s real economic priorities.

And, essentially, not a lick about the “dangerous climate change” in the entire editorial.

Considering the article was reporting adults talking, why would “dangerous climate change” receive a mention?

  1. Hi,
All these company’s that are now against the carbon tax I feel have left there feelings known a bit late, they should of spoken out as soon as Julia announced there was going to be a carbon tax whether we liked it or not. We all can see the writing on the wall, this tax is going to ruin OZ, I’m sick of the the lies that are being told daily, by this stupid Government/Dictatorship.

I watched Bob Brown on insiders, online as I only wanted to watch that particular part, the show actually drives me crazy sometimes. Anyway Bob really is giddy with power, he was so excited and of course raving, things like eventually all coal mines will have to shut etc. this guy and his party are very dangerous, and I wonder if the people that voted for the Greens actually understand what they have done. Even if the Liberals win the next election, I can’t see them getting anything passed in the Senate, the whole thing is like a nightmare.

    • I mentioned that a few days ago. Just how will Abbott repeal the carbon tax with the Greens having the balance of power in the Senate?

Labor would have to follow Gary Johns’ lead and get back to where they once belonged. dodadadum

“… with the Greens having the balance of power in the Senate?”
Pass it a second time within 24 hours of the Senate voting it down.

I take it, JMH, you are looking at at a double dissolution trigger? And thinking that the Greens aren’t deluded enough to conspire in their own destruction?

I think you’re wrong – the Greens believe that everyone supports their stance. They cannot see the threat, because to actually see it means to stop believing in the purity and infallibility of their leader and their cause.

          • So that’s what he was on about.

With the Greens controlling the Senate if Abbott won the next election, it’d be impossible to repeal the carbon tax despite what Tony is fond of saying now. Thus I thought a double dissolution would be the only way.

Didn’t realise JM’s idea could trigger it.

Only one error – it requires a piece of legislation to be rejected by the senate twice, with the second presentation/rejection being after a time period of three months.
Second issue is the double dissolution is presented by the PM to the GG.
I doubt the Leader of the Opposition can present it to the GG.
And we all know that the GG will back the redhead.
We are heading for a Constitutional Crisis of epic proportions. Buckle up.

  2. Do your readers realise that the Gillard/Brown Government have pledged 10% of all monies raised with their new tax – to the United Nations ‘Green Fund’?

The more they tax us the more money the UN will make…… and this is an unelected un democratic body, selling us a scam to make money….

    • They’re a pretty good bunch here, so probably yes. That 10% (or part thereof) goes towards funding the UN’s Agenda 21 program.

Nasty stuff. Basically a global totalitarian (either fascist or communist, it doesn’t really matter) regime if the plan is carried out to the full.

Check Col. Mike McCallister at the 8:20 mark.

      More on Agenda 21…

Thus, was Lord Monckton really being that outrageous by labeling Australia’s climate czar, Ross Garnaut, a fascist?

Finally, cheers for dropping by. 🙂

      • Great post, too, BTW. Making a mental note to get back to it when there’s more time.

What a wonderful blog. Didn’t know this.

“Un’s plan to impose global goverance by the time of their 2012 World Summit on sustainable development in Rio”. So thank you for that.

  3. Just put up an antry SAD DAY FOR AUSTRALIA …. where is the concerted effort to fight this?

Bob Brown and his Green Cohort effectively take over running Australia for the next six years.

Julia Gillard did not have the numbers to become the First Australian Female PM at the last Federal Election. It took the assistance of the Greens and the Independents to get her officially accepted (in law) as Prime Minister. Now they are calling in their ‘markers’. Think Carbon Tax for starters. And even if another Political Party won the next Federal Election, Brown has declared he would block any effort to dismiss the Carbon Tax. SIX YEARS we will be imprisoned people!

Right now EGO is running high…. need to deflate it ASAP
