Could have been prevented

The government had three hours (if not more) to use section 431 of an act, the Fair Work Act the PM personally had a major hand in writing, to stop the union strike actions and keep the QANTAS planes flying.

PM Gillard didn’t act.

Why?

Questions are even being raised whether government ministers were even aware of the options at their disposal.

Why did it have to come to such drastic measures being taken by a struggling airline before the relevant arbitratory body would do anything?

Why didn’t the PM take the call from QANTAS CEO Alan Joyce who was desperate for her help, and why also didn’t she call him back?

Why was the government caught so off-guard when there had been repeated warnings that QANTAS may have to ground the planes?

I think it’s because gillzilla and the rest of the alp monkeys assumed that Qantas would just roll over like they had in the past.

I’m getting popcorn for this one. πŸ™‚

Hoy, Winston, I’ll have a Gin/Tonic with lime thanks.

Yep and once again in some strange way it is ALL Tony Abbott’s fault, Julia and her cronies say so.

That bloody Abbott. A menace to society; apparently. Can I grab a G&T, too? XXXX will suffice. (*Adds Lemon Wedge, swallows Oyster – downs some Absinthe for good measure)

Merilyn, I became so ANGRY listening to Question time this afternoon.. Labor members do not have the most infinitesmal drop of integrity in their collective blood. I have renamed the ABC the Abbott Bashing Corporation too.

Elsie, have had to give up watching question time, couldn’t stand to watch Harry Jenkins totally abysmal performance as a speaker, [seen some bad ones in my time, but he is the worse yet]. That is a good knick-name for the ABC they don’t hide their bias anymore do they?

Just a thought if Julia and Co think that Abbott is a “liar”why not step out of Parliament and say so instead of hiding behind the fact that he can’t take them to court for what they call him in the “Coward’s Castle”?

Gawd! You are indeed a generous man, BB! We loves ya!!!! πŸ˜†

      • Oi. What’s your pick tomorrow? What’s the name of that black horse?

          • Sean of Deer Park
          • October 31st, 2011

This is a hard call. Every horse has an equitable chance of a win, they are all good at this level. Being a large field (24) over a long distance (3200m), it’s anyone’s guess.

When it comes to the Cup, I like Waterhouse and Cummings as trainer’s and NZ horses do well in the Cup, so are worth the bet.

The only “Black” horse running is No.7 – Unusual Suspect, from NZ. A good pick.

Americain from the USofA is the favourite; so, not much point putting money on it unless it’s in a Quinella, Trifecta etc…

In a field of 24, I’ll take four, nah, maybe five (I like your Black Horse idea) and Box ’em up with a win/place, Quin and Tri. Hopefully, I’ll break-even or up my outlay. Therefore, I’ll put money on:

          7———Unusual Suspect
          11——-Precedence
          14——-illo
          22——-Tullamore*
          24——-Older Than Time
(*My personal favourite for the win; as it has won its last 2 races, is from NZ and is trained by the Gai Waterhouse crew)

Fingers, toes and nuts crossed. (*Eye’s watering, teeth clenched*) πŸ˜†

          • OK. Not that I’m about to set up a sportsbet account, but if you could, keep an eye on how Usual Suspect, Illo, and Tullamore do in a boxed quinella.

πŸ˜† Tragic! Lost 500 bucks! Mum warned me, but I didn’t listen. Illo was looking good for a while. Bugger! I think it was the closest race for the past 40 years, photo finish for 1st,2nd and 3rd. Told Mum I’ll take her to Crown later this week and see if we can recoup a couple of dollars. Will most likely end up homeless and resort to hanging out with the Occupy Crowd.

We had a sweep out of hat at Mel’s and a Nine year old won the bloody lot. Good on her, a sensible little girl who was so excited and said she’d put the money in the bank. Had a great day, but feeling completely wasted at this point. Might go and get a movie or two and veg out for a while. It’s been a huge week and I think I’m getting a bit too old for all this. Call me, Codger. *Yawns and pours another drink*

              • Just came off an aerobics workout to the first two (replayed repeatedly) FNPM mixes. Listening – finally – to the mix you put up.

I so love this song. Too funny!

Strange, I had a funny phone message this arvo on my mobile from the “Australian Federal Police” regarding James Boards Blog! (EEK! I blame Gillard) Just checking out the best way to get back to them. Do I use my mobile business plan or my home phone to reply to the call? So many choices to consider.

Its $1.20 per minute to call ‘Korea, South’ on the home line or $20 flat rate if you dial 0018 instead of 0011. I’m on the phone to Telstra as I type to find out what the charges are for calling from the mobile; but the Telstra system is down (so typical) and I’m on hold waiting to find out what they are going to sting me. They tell me with 100% certainty the best price is to call from the Home Phone and don’t use the Mobly.

I have found a site on the web which says call 0424215055 to call from my mobile at local rates, charged within my monthly plan, effectively making the call free of charges; but the number keeps on saying it’s congested.

I’ll keep trying… don’t want to keep the feds waiting though, eh? πŸ˜†
