If only our government had spent our billions more wisely…


…Instead of wasting it on substandard school halls, and an NBN that will be obsolete before it’s even built (if anyone has used wireless on their smartphone, you’ll know what I mean).

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) says its latest report card on the nation’s public hospitals shows they are struggling to meet demand.

Not exactly news, but this is.

Nationally, the average waiting time for elective surgery increased to 35 days.

There’s a lot I can’t afford but private health insurance isn’t one of them.

“Sadly all of the states and territories are going backwards,” [AMA president Dr Steve Hambleton] said.

No worries. This is good news apparently.

“It’s clear that [our] reforms are delivering,” [Health minister, Nicola] Roxon said.
