The blame game

The state Victorian Opposition (ALP) blames the Victorian Government (Lib) for Alcoa potentially closing its Victorian smelter. It says the government should do something.

Federal Opposition leader Tony Abbott blames Gillard’s carbon tax.

The truth?

Alcoa today announced it would examine the viability of its Point Henry aluminium smelter at Geelong because a high dollar, higher metal prices and input costs had made it unprofitable.

Alcoa blames neither the state (Lib) nor federal (ALP) government per se.

UPDATE

Although…

Mr Cransberg [the Alcoa big cheese] said while the carbon tax was not the reason for the review, it would hurt business.

“Obviously post July 1 that will make life more difficult for us,” he told journalists.

Thus Julia’s “hyperbowl” (she said Abbott’s comments were “disgusting”) at Abbott is just that; “hyperbowl”.

Julia really wants to find anything she can to “blame” Abbott for to take the “heat”of herself and her stupid Carbon Tax, and to try and get herself “liked” by the people of Australia, don’t think it is working though.

I’m waiting to see what happens after 1 July because all the builders are factoring in price rises for materials.

I wonder if gillzilla realizes that the major components for construction; concrete/cement, aluminium, glass & steel will be affected by her ‘save the world’ tax. (aka breathing out tax)

Of course the droner from altona will blame Tony Abbott.
