What’s happening?

What’s the deal with WA, WOZ?

I guess I could check the IP, but hmmm… is Carpe posting from Ostralya or Zhapan?

One hopes the fellow QLDers who visit here are still enjoying the moment.

Light postings as a result of my poor little old car being very sick, dying, and have been busy finding a new car – a task made a little more cumbersome as my and LBB’s work schedules don’t sync.

Sooner rather than later, however, this little baby should be ready to pick up. Well, similar at least. Exterior will look the same. Interior will look more like the fifth photo in this series with a few other nicies chucked in plus a manual gear shift and, ho hum, the biggest engine available in the Korean market is the two litre as opposed to the 2.4L available in the States. It’s known as the Kia Forte Koup here but I think they call it a Cerrato Koup in Oz.

Anyway, it should do the job.

In other news, no lifelong pensions for some QLD Labor MPs who didn’t serve enough time, but gee, don’t you wish the rest of us could get severance payments like these ones at the equivalent of three entire months’ pay or around 30K?

All the while we wait to see how the finances really stack up…

  1. Hi,
Oh it is a great day in QLD.

“Mr Newman on Tuesday said Mr Withers, head of Queensland’s Office of Climate Change, would be asked to oversee the removal of carbon reduction schemes he had helped create, which the LNP has promised to axe.”
    http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/campbell-newman-assures-job-for-anna-blighs-husband-greg-withers-asking-him-to-undo-work-of-past-four-years/story-fnbt5t29-1226311500919

As we know Bligh’s husband renewed his contract and if sacked he gets $600,000 pay out. I’m sure he is going to love working for Newman, everything that Withers has done over the past 4 years, he has to undo, and after that Newman said he find him a job. πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

    • Yes. Saw that. Loved it!

How do you mean whats the deal?

We’re still getting tax raped by the federal Govt. The muppets in charge here are still playing catch up with infrastructure projects that were needed 5-20 years ago, not to mention the ones we could use right now, and planning on pissing vast sums of money away on things we dont need. Same shirt different day really.

I thought the engine in my car was a bit small too Bing. So I put in a bigger one. I rekon you could squeeze one into your car too. πŸ˜€

On second thoughts, it might be easier to mount a turbo somewhere than squeeze in a V8. I think the conversion from front to rear wheel drive may cause some issues…

        • Maybe a couple…

Actually, have thought about a turbo, too. In fact, they’re releasing a turbo model in the States soonish. Convincing wifey of the benefits may be another story however.

She didn’t exactly appreciate it when I planted it even in a mild V6 Bommadore one time in Australia. And using the it-saves-fuel-saves-the-planet line won’t work because she’s put up with my anti-global warming crap since the day we met.

Essentially, a turbo for me is like a Gucci bag for her – a helluva expensive trade-off i.e. there’s no way I’m getting one if she ain’t getting Gucci. I’d end up spending 10K for one turbo.

Speaking of 10K… BTW, that same car is 10 grand more expensive in Oz… ouch.

    $10k more? That 6.2l V8 is only $7k these days…

A quick look around the interwebs came up with this:

      http://www.jattus.com/Performance/cartview.php?id=3

But like anything to do with modified cars, do your homework, talk to people who have had similar mods done before, and make sure you’re dealing with people who know their business. Look for places with happy repeat customers, not just people with the biggest adds or highest dyno numbers.

Its truly amazing how many performance shops are convenient fronts for money laundering…

      • As a foreigner with only basic Korean skills, I’m a prime target to be ripped off in that dept., and with that apartment still on the horizon, I’ll have to be satisfied with factory specs… maybe after we move in or choose another apartment, there might be some spare cash.*

        *after someone gets Gucci.

Its good to see you’ve got your priorities right mate. Happy Wife = Happy Life. Or so I’m told…

          • They’re easier to deal with when they’re not pissed off… and by easier, think of it in the sense that having a cold one is easier than climbing Everest in your undies.

    A proper sized auto-motor:

    Cheers

    • Petrol bill would be a little steep, wouldn’t it?
