The big news today isn’t in Oz, but rather the debate over Obamacare’s constitutionality going on in the US Supreme Court. Basically, proponents are arguing it’s a commodity, and therefore section 10 of the US constitution allows the federal government to pass laws in relation to commerce between states.
Opponents are arguing it’s not a commodity, and therefore Obama has to butt out. They’ll probably also argue even if it is a commodity, can the govt., for example, force you to buy a cell phone?
One would think Obamacare won’t pass muster, but then again, it wouldn’t be the first time the Constitution has been side swiped.
In other important world news, it looks like I’ll be able to pick up that new car after work on Friday, thus Friday drinks may have to be postponed a few hours.
