No, the Democrats weren’t spared and the Republicans weren’t unfairly attacked

So a few bloggers are having a sook that Jimmy Kimmel at the White House correspondents’ dinner went softly softly on the Dems and Obama, and was unfair to the Republicans and Romney.

To save rewriting, he’s what I just sent in to Bolta.

Watched Kimmel’s speech earlier today. Actually, the impression I got was that he pounded the Democrats with far more hits, and the Republican jokes weren’t that harsh.

No side was spared, and if anything, the Dems copped it far worse this year.

It’s on YouTube, about 25 minutes… anyone can watch it.

BTW, the whole dog thing. OK, I get it. But in some parts of Asia, especially 40-0dd years ago, eating dog is/was completely normal.

PS Not a lefty…

Also that Kimmel wasn’t funny. Actually, I’m a bit of a fan of Kimmel, ever since The Man Show, and thought he did pretty well.

Hey, I love the left/right fight more than most, but I also like watching the WHCD every year. It’s a chance to take a step back, take stock, yet do it in a good-hearted manner. We’re participants in a healthy democracy afterall, not guerillas with AK47s running around the jungle somewhere.

I was a bit amused by Obama’s attack on Palin. I guess he never got the memo that she is not on the ticket for the republicans. But he is continuing his war on Women.

    • Not even that. I love the WHDCs because it’s all about politics but not about politics at all. It’s jibes, jokes, a night off.

And should be appreciated as such.

Except that Obambi is involved, and apparently he cannot tell a joke about himself. Which President Bush managed to do with regularity during his eight years. Obi has far too much self-esteem.
