NSW cops raid HSU East, AFP move on Slipper

Bolta, whose day job actually IS blogging, has the details.

One has to be cynical as to what the NSW cops will find, however. HSU East has had around four years’ warning that the proverbial might hit the fan. The allegations are that some of them there, or who were there, are crooked, not stupid.

    A particularly interesting note:
“He adds that the investigations go back to events in the mid 1990s. ”

I wonder if it has anything to do with Ms Gillard’s home expenditure and assorted “young and naive” mishaps (circa: 1996)? 😆

    • That was about the time she was coming onto you in the elevator, wasn’t it?

Brain bleach, i need brain bleach to burn the image from my head.

          • But just think, Carpe. If Sean had welcomed those advances, Juliar could have ended up being a mum, and would have been too busy to become PM.

Sean failed to take one for the team, and now look at the mess we’re in.

That was probably why Sean hadn’t been to bed the other day, waiting to see what news was breaking!

If she was ever a member of the union it might be. You know this is draewing a long bow.

Unless you miss, it is about the HSU and further more, one branch of that union.

Julia’s past job involved representing Unions in the IR Court on high level issues. There is a connection between Gillard, Wilson, Thomson and Williamson. A couple of Journo’s recently lost their jobs for daring to speak of the various links. One day, the story may be told. Until then its all speculation and intrigue. Time will tell.

        Some examples:
“Mr Williamson is on the ALP’s national executive and is a member of the powerful right wing of the NSW party. Mr Williamson’s daughter Alexandra is a media officer for the Prime Minister, Julia Gillard.”

“As a solicitor acting on instructions, she set up an association later used by her lover to defraud the Australian Workers Union (AWU).”…
“Ms Gillard, who in her early thirties was a lawyer with Melbourne-based Labor firm Slater&Gordon at the time of the fraud, acted for the AWU.” …
“The relationship, briefly mentioned in Victoria’s Parliament in 1995, re-surfaced this year when rogue WA CFMEU union official Kevin Reynolds referred to the affair at a union meeting.
Accusing Ms Gillard of hypocrisy, Mr Reynolds told members it was just one of many secrets he would reveal about Labor’s inner circle.”

Why all the secrecy? Follow the links and read some of these…

From the Milne article and in comments here:
“The Mafia-style dirt-covered shovel — code for digging your own grave — dumped on Friday at 3.30am on the doorstop of Kathy Jackson, the union official who had the courage to refer Thomson’s activities to the police, may as well have been delivered to the Lodge. For Gillard it is now that bad. She is simply regarded as collateral damage and large sections in the Labor movement are uninterested about whether she’s terminally wounded or not as they go about their internal bloodletting. It is about to get worse as elements of the Australian Workers’ Union seek to settle up with Thomson’s accusers by demonstrating that Gillard herself was implicated, albeit unknowingly, in a major union fraud of her own before she entered parliament.”
(Note of interest: the night of this awful event, Andrew Bolt was at Kathy Jacksons house doing an interview with her)

        A family affair:
“What a tangled web we weave especially when you consider Thomson is married to Zoe Arnold, a former Transport Workers Union official and adviser to former NSW Health Minister Reba Meagher. Alex Williamson, daughter of HSU national president Mike Williamson, is an adviser to Gillard. And, of course, as mentioned, Kathy Jackson, who blew the whistle on Thomson, was married to former Victorian state HSU secretary Jeff Jackson.”…
“On Friday, Michael Smith of 2UE contacted me to check the veracity of material in a statutory declaration drawn up by Bob Kernohan, the former president of the AWU, and dealing with the relationship between Gillard and Bruce Wilson, which I outline below.
On Saturday, Herald Sun and Daily Telegraph columnist Andrew Bolt wrote on his blog: “On Monday, I’m tipping, a witness with a statutory declaration will come forward and implicate Julia Gillard directly in another scandal involving the misuse of union funds. Gillard herself is not accused of any misbehaviour at all. I do not make that claim, and do not hold that belief. But her judgment — and that of at least one of her ministers — will come under severe question. She will seem compromised. It could be the last straw for Gillard’s leadership.”

So, although I am not making any direct allegations, nor do I know anything other than hearsay and previously reported incidents; well yes, the bow is long. You can see there are many questions and the same names keep popping up with relationship/acquaintence ties involving the same people, over and over, spanning more than a decade. Who knows what the truth is? I don’t. But there is certainly enough here to raise many questions when you consider the similarities and persons involved in what has been reported over the years.

It seems to go to issues of character. People in senior positions in both Unions, Law and Government. Examples include Williamson being the President of the ALP, his family working for Gillard in the PM’s office, Union associations, transactions larger than an average workers yearly salary involving people in the above citations and the use of Union Members funds for personal gain.

Sitting here, it seems obvious to me something is amiss. I read somewhere recently a comment from an individual along the lines of; if Abbott becomes PM, he needs to call a Royal Commission into the workings of the Unions in Australia. I think that may be a very apt point. Someone needs to join the dots and see if this is all just coincidence or if something more sinister is going on in the “inner circles”.

        • I remember one snide union thug commenter on Bolta’s, after Kevni won the election, who said, “We’re baaaaack.”

          Yes, they are…

You could be right. Still these are very old allegations that have been tested many times

Lawyers, by the nature of their jobs mixed with many different characters, some even a little shady.

Still no one in this matter has been chrged as far as I know.

We are still talking about allegations.

          • I’m not sure they’ve been tested many times. But I agree, it’s all still allegations at the moment.

But by oh boy there are a lot of them, and I feel we’ve only had a glimpse so far into what all indications are pointing to as a very complex web of favours, corruption, and deceit.

It’s not a stretch of the imagination to think there will be more, much more to follow, and indeed it wouldn’t be a surprise if a Royal Commission is set up… when a new government is in place, of course. Not a hope we’d see one before then.

A royal commission there will not be. Not under a new government.

No governement does this, unless they know what they are going to find.

Mr. Abbott will be too busy demolishing everything Labor has done since 2007. There will be much work to do.

              Enjoy the dramatics.

              • Always do! 🙂

  1. Collecting all the shonky documents in one convenient pile, placing them in a bag marked “swag”, wearing a skivvy with horizontal stripes, and tiptoeing out the back door with a mask over his eyes might and with one index finger to his lips, hoping that none of the rozzers would have stayed near the vehicles, might not have been one of Williamson’s smarter moves.

    • Spoke too soon re “stupid”.

Being a crooked union official does not preclude stupidity. Had a modicum of intellect been exercised, much of this turmoil would not have been agitated.
